Hello,

I have setup a Postfix mail server. This server is behind a network proxy.

whenever I send mail to external mail servers like [email protected] I get 'connection refused' message in my postfix mail logs.

But I receive the mail sent via postfix mail account to my email account that is on my company's corporate mail server (i.e inside the network proxy) e.g [email protected]

Please help in sorting the problem out.

I doubt that network proxy is playing spoilsport.

Thanks in advance

Ashish

You should probably contact your ISP, the one who you pay for Internet access, and ask them if you can relay email via their server. Then all your outgoing non-company email would go to the ISP's mail server and they will talk to gmail.com and others for you.

The term "smarthost" is often used to refer to the ISP's mail server which relays email for you.
