Restrict apache access to host name only

I have an apache server running on a dedicated machine. Currently, the machine can be accessed via IP address or domain name.

Is there a way to restrict the IP thing? for example, if I type the IP address of my machine, I won't get logged in somehow. but, if i type the domain name my process get requested by apache, otherwise apache would ignore the requestor or something.
