Just like the title says, what book(s) would you recommend for learning PHP6?

I know my way around PHP5 pretty well, so I don't need a "beginner" book; just one that explains what's new and maybe some general PHP "best practices."

Has anyone read these books or others that you would recommend? Thanks for any advice.

EDIT 2010-03-18 : Things seem to be moving, theses days, in the PHP 6 world...

See this blogpost, for example : Future of PHP 6

So, just so it's said : it's probably not quite agood idea to buy a previously written books on PHP 6 !

Original answer :

PHP 6 is far from finished : it's not even in alpha stage !

So, I would definitly not recommend buying a book about it : it will probably be full of errors, or things that will change before PHP 6 is actually released !

If you want a proof that things can (and will ? ) change : for PHP 5.3, the namespace separator was '::' for versions smaller than alpha2, and became '\' with alpha3 -- not a small change ;-)

Agreed. WAY too soon to take PHP6 too seriously.

Agreed. And while you're waiting for PHP6, you can always learn another language :-)

Thanks. That's fair.@oops: haha... I just might. What would you recommend?

PHP6 is not out the door yet, and this will very likely take a while.

Any book you read will contain information that is likely to change.

Both of those books got really bad reviews, because they cover PHP 5, and just got the PHP6 moniker slapped on it for marketing reasons.

Every PHP6 books at this time are written by evil writers. Read after me: PHP6 = PHP 5.3 + Unicode
