Hi, I want some good book/**online material** to learn COM programming with C++ from the basics. I do not have prior knowledge about COM but have good knowledge about c++. So some book that will teach me from hello world programming in COM will be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Don Box's Essential COM starts out with an excellent job of describing COM fundamentals from the point of view of a C++ programmer with no COM experience -- but it does then move rapidly into increasingly complex topics, allowing little time for the reader to catch their breath.
Kraig Brockschmidt's Inside OLE takes things a bit more slowly, though I am not sure if it's still in print.
Box et al.'s Effective COM is a bit bitty, but presents quite a bit of info in convenient bite-sized chunks, again starting out with a good section on moving from C++ to COM.
And if you're using Visual C++, Rector and Sells' Essential ATL (I think there is now a second edition by Chris Tavares, but not sure) walks through the ATL wrapper library from "Hello, ATL" on up.
