Does such a major mode exist?

It seems like the answer is "no." Want to help me write one?

Greg,

Sounds like fun. I've used Emacs for year. I now use Aquamacs on a Mac. I'm no Emacs Lisp whiz, but my init.el file is 36x. I want to learn. I have your javafx-mode loaded in Aquamacs and it seems to work. Are you interested in rewriting javafx-mode using something more than define-generic-mode?

A few things: 1. I'm not writing in JavaFX at the moment (Sept. 2009), so I can't justify spending much time on it right now. 2. You're right, some better than define-generic-mode should be the basis of the work. 3. A few month back somebody saw my project and sent me a message explaining that somebody named Gayard also wrote a simple javafx mode. A Google search produces a link, but the site appears to be down. It might be nice to have a look at that work and combine the two, or just use the better one (which is probably not mine :)
