I am trying to enable server manager remote management on a Windows Server 2008 (not R2) machine. I get the following error when I try to connect to the server remotely.

Connecting to remote server failed with the following error message: The WS-Management service cannot process the request. The resource URI ...://schemas.microsoft.com/powershell/Microsoft.S... was not found in the WS-Management catalog. The catalog contains the metadata that describes resources, or logical endpoints. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.

I already ran winrm quickconfig and received no errors when I enabled remote management through that command.

I also found examples on how to configure a server 2008 R2 machine for remote management (There's a link on the Server Manager summary page) but this link does not appear in server 2008.
