I'm creating a member dashboard where customers of my wordpress theme system can access updates and deploy them to multiple sites at once.
I need to choose a membership software that will allow me to manage user access and present both a common area where updates can be obtained, as well as a unique, user-specific dashboard interface where the user can list and manage the sites they've deployed the software to (batch software updates to selected sites).
I need to insure as much security as possible in this regard, while balancing flexibility with getting people automatically entered into the member database once they've purchased my product.
My main two objectives are:
1) I need some means to automatically register a new customer into the member database after they've purchased my product via paypal (perhaps IPN integration). Will e-junkie do this? Or another product order fullfillment service? ie, once purchase is made, automatically enter the user into the member database and send them their user/pass.
2) I need a means to easily manage upsell. For example, a new customer is automatically given access to the basic dashboard which contains product updates, however, they must purchase a subscription for the batch site update feature. I'd like the member script to be able to integrate with the pay and order fullfillment services that you recommend so that the scripts can be configured based on the upsell product.
ie. If user purchases "a", they get access to "silver" section of the site... If user purchases "a" and "b" they get access to the "silver and "gold" section, opening up more tools.
