Hi all,

I was wondering if there is any open-source/free borland together clone to create uml diagrams like class diagrams, use case diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc.

Many thanks

The RISE Editor at www.RiseToBloome.com might have some of what you need. But it depends on exactly what you're looking to accomplish.

Thanks I will have a look at what kind of UML models it can generate later.

The old Borland team has created three tools.

  • The traditional Togethersoft tool is at: www.borland.com/us/products/together/index.html . It is not free and getting a little rusty today !!
  • open source Eclipse project UML 2 tools is available at: http://www.eclipse.org/modeling/mdt/?project=uml2tools
  • The best of all is Omondo EclipseUML You can use the 90 days evaluation with the latest RCP build for Eclipse 3.5.2 : www.omondo-internal-build.com/eclipse-java-galileo-SR2-win32_eclipseUML2.2_package.zip Just unzip it and it immediately works. Just magic :-) The licence is related to the user name, it means that you can create as many different users as you want on your pc and use it as long as you want. If you get fedup or work inside a company then you are obliged to buy it.
