I realize that there have been other questions about software project management systems, and those are helpful, but does anyone know of good systems that also integrate with sharepoint? Ideally, I'd like to see something just like Trac with SVN backend support, but integrated into Sharepoint.

The Microsoft SharePoint team have made some free out of the box templates for issue handling, but the template is kind of rudimentary. I have not worked with Trac but the template will need some upgrading to compete with most of the commercial bug trackers, the same goes for the top 10 open source alternatives.

The big advantage of using SharePoint as your bug tracker is that you get the integration with the project management module for free (if you are using or planing to use SharePoint as your project management platform).

Yes, that's the idea. My firm consults for Sharepoint as well, so it would be useful for us to be able to show how to do such a thing effectively. The problem with the built-in issue tracker is that it's really oriented toward the PM parts of a project, rather than a development end of things

Brightworks has a product that seems worth investigating, as we are. It has various project management templates for the various types of projects you may manage: small, large, agile, etc.

Project Server is also tightly integrated with SharePoint.
