I just started to learn Python few days ago, which is also my first programming language, I'm so excited about it, just loving it, thinking about it any minute.

in order to spend more time practice my skills, get familiar with the syntax, I'm seeking if it's possible to setup python environment on my mobile, so that i can program while waiting in line or attending some boring parties...

anyway, i came across this thing called Pippy which can be ran on a Palm hand held device, that's exactly what i'm looking for!!! http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/l-pippy.html

i downloaded the Python-1.5.2+reduced-1.0 package from Sourceforge right away. BUT, there are bunch of files and folders in the zip file, i dont even see a prc file...

I cannot help wondering:

1, can pippy run at palm Centro mobile? which runs palm os 5.4.9 i think 2, how can i install this pippy on my mobile? syc the whole Python-1.5.2+reduced-1.0 folder to it? 3, any other recommendation to implement python on mobile?

thanks a lot.

I also need help in this area. I installed piffy 0.6beta (which is much smaller than 1.5.2) onto my memory card and then proceeded to start it from the files section of my phone. My phone rebooted the palm OS and I went to to my application section and found the applet now listed; however, each time I start the applet, Palm reboots. How do I get this software or palm to open up a shell for programming. I am a novice when it comes to palm OS. I am also new to python, but I'm interested in trying some cell phone programming.

I appreciate your help.
