RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}$1 [R=301, L]

Not tested, just an idea.

toscho
what language is this?
This is Apache’s internal configuration language: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_rewrite.html
toscho
+2  A:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{SERVER_PORT} 80
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R,L]

Tested and working! This is what i use...

confiq
The server port for HTTP is sometimes 8080.
toscho
where in the code above does it go?
@joesalvator: Anywhere, try at bottom or at <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> section@toscho: If you want and port 8080, then write another condition or use your example as you wrote down
confiq
I lose link on my site when i put this code in
