Is there vertical highlighting in NetBeans?

In MS Visual Studios, you can hold down the ALT key and make text selections vertically. Is there this ability in NetBeans on MAC OSX?

Natively NetBeans does not support rectangular/vertical selection, but there is a plugin available that does exactly that. Also - take a look at this discussion in the NetBeans issue tracker.

It looks that this plugin doesn't work with recent versions.
