Is it possible to receive a scanned bar-code trough a cash register to a PC, when the cash register is connected to the PC trough a COM port(COM1)? The cash register receives the scanned code, but using ComPort in Delphi, it doesn't receive anything. Now i'm trying to do this with Java, based on this tutorial: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/ibm/library/i-barcd/?Open&t=grj,l=766,p=barcodes.
As far as I know, the scanner had no drivers with it, and no manual or anything. Has anyone worked with something like this? The main concern is that the scanned bar-code could "dissapear" in the cash register and never get further.
