Change how Spry expands

I'm new to Sprys and am inserting a horizontal menu Spry into a webpage using Dreamweaver. The problem is that it is contains a LOT of information.

How can I get my horizontal Spry to expand like:

ITEM_1 ITEM_2 ITEM_3 ITEM_4

ITEM_1A ITEM_1B ITEM_1C

rather than:

ITEM_1 ITEM_2 ITEM_3 ITEM_4

ITEM_1A

ITEM_1B

ITEM_1C
