Using cufon 'manually' not the plugin.... I have a delay on many page loads in Safari and FF on the Cufon enabled headings....

Tried moving Cufon higher up (eg before wp_head() and the plugin code that calls, without any real effect.

Some pages no problem but others just a long enough delay to be annoying.

I'm not really keen on hiding the headings before the page load completes as is suggested elsewhere. If it loads without delay some of the time, I wonder if it can be made to 'all' of the time :) My connection speed is good.

Thanks for any ideas on this.

Were you able to figure this out? I checked out your URL and it looks like everything loads properly. I am still having issues with the delay on Safari.

The site went live anyway, but just checking I never did completely lose the flicker. AFAIK the Cufon.now addition before the </body> is solely an IE fix, which I had in there anyway... There is this: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2256901/i-am-using-cufon-hack-cufon-now-on-wordpress-not-working with a solution to hide text before rendering, but I'm not crazy on that idea :)
