A computer science student needs help selecting topic for thesis [j2ee]

Question

Dear All, I am doing my Master degree, and I need to start working on my thesis( a j2ee project using MVC(Model view controller)).

I am looking for a nice topic, but I don't know what.

I have did some java projects using the following technologies:

 Data structure programming

 Java Server Socket Programming

 J2ee programming (JSP,Servlets,JSF,Beans)

please help me select a nice topic , thanks in advance.

Ok this is an odd question... however my answer would be don't think about what you know, but what you like. Then learn (know) about that. So what topics or software do you like? What are your other hobbies? Can you think of some software that would make you happier? If you can do that as a thesis applying the required knowledge and languages or what not.

Not that I want to be difficult, but... If you don't yet know the topic, how can you have already chosen the best tools with which to build it? Surely, if you're to the point of writing a master's thesis, you're capable of adapting and using whatever tools are best suited to the job at hand.

I would take two diametrically opposed MVC frameworks and show how they are both correct. Often papers want to contrast and show a winner. I would like to see a paper that shows how there are more than one correct way to do something.

Write a web site where people can submit ideas for master's theses, and master's students without theses can find ideas. include ways for good ideas to get upvoted, for students to "register" their current work with ideas sumissions, ideas to be forked when a thesis project is straying too far from original intent, etc. This will also eliminate any future offtopic questions at SO as well, and is a prime candidate to demonstrate a J2EE MVC site.

take a look at the presentations on java web frameworks here: http://static.raibledesigns.com/repository/presentations/. these are real world things, so they may give you some ideas.

Did you already find the idea for a thesis? Maybe we can work together. Im doing MS in Software Engineering also. I'll be focusing on Web trends, emerging techs,etc
