How can I Implement a chat functionality in My web Site?

I have a two user. Admin and staff.

If a staff member is available, we need an icon to become Visible - on the home (or other) page.

Clicking on that STAFF icon will present the “clicker” with a chat interface to that staff member.

How can i Implement this feature in asp.net. I am new in this type of technology. Will you please give me some idea to proceed further for this type of project.
