Looking for a Good CMS

Question

I am looking for a good CMS system to create a community website. I am looking for something that either has a built in message board, or can plug into something along the lines of phpBB. If it supported some level of wiki functionality that would be awesome, but that is a pretty low priority for me.

I am wondering what other people out there have used before and how it worked for them.

I suggest Joomla. Not too difficult to set up and highly configurable. I suggest you take a look at it.

If you use a hosting service such as SiteGround, you get very good service and they make it easy to plug in bulletin boards etc. into Joomla.

Use Drupal. Although the learning may be a little higher for this CMS, the possibilities are endless and has a good community support. Lot of opensource modules are also available

Use Joomla if you want something easy to pick up. One of the best out there as well.

For me the only choice is Drupal. Joomla looks nice and shiny but doesn't have the developer support or the flexibility.

Drupal has a steeper learning curve but the investment will pay off soon enough. It is also a community CMS right from the start. It always has been.

Check this out: http://drupal.org/node/1/revisions Drupal's first node has existed for 7 years while Joomla 1.1x is completely incompatible with 1.5.x. If you are running Joomla 1.1x you'd have to start again to upgrade.
