Are you in NY by any chance, hahaha. I just saw a post on craigslist about this.

Nice, is that asking for the codez, too?

Nope, I'm new here. I'm a developer, who just happened to be on craigslist looking for some side work today, and came across someone looking for a solution to a problem very similar to what "Michael" posted about.

My point was to ask if that post was similar, basically asking for a solution instead of help finding a solution. You'll notice that a lot of people new to SO, and some that have been around for a while, tend to want a solution handed to them, wrapped up in a nice little bow. I don't mean to be rude to the OP, but it gets tiresome to deal with poorly worded questions that ultimately seek to use us. (Note, by poorly worded, I'm not referring to lack of English skills, by non-native speakers.) Oh, and welcome to stackoverflow!

If I find the answer I will post it as there are many others using VM who need this. I was hoping to find an extension to purchase or someone who could point me in the right direction.

@Michael Then state it as such. Of course it'd be PHP code, as Joomla is written in PHP. And of course, you need `HELP!!!`, that's the point of this site. Everyone asking questions here needs help. Being obnoxious about it only serves to raise the ire of people like myself. Unfortunately, I have no experience with Joomla, or I would try to help you.

Ok - it seems that SO didn't really help me much. But as promised - if I found the solution I would post. I changed ps_checkout - specifically the function calc_order_tax - I check the shopper group and set tax to zero if the group is tax exempt.
