Android on HTC Legend - Tethering Possible?

If versions of Android prior to the yet-to-be-released Froyo can't support tethering, why does HTC's Europe page say that it is actually possible?

I'm confused. Please educate me about the same.

in the us is ilegal, that's why, tethering is a matter of software not hardware ;)

it's "illegal" not illegal :P but almost the same, you can't go to jail, but you can't keep your phone services
