Connection conn;

NOTE: Make sure you put your close in a finally !!!

thanks for the response but I have already tried this. It makes no difference."NOTE: Make sure you put your close in a finally !!!"You can see that I am quite naively testing my code right now but I'll try to stick to the "good" practices during this phase in future.
