Hello,

What lightweight wiki engine would you recommend for a project wiki?
I need to manage project conventions, coding style, some tutorial like things for new developers, global practices for the team and so on.

My basic requirements are:

  • Markdown (we use it in all the projects)
  • syntax highlighting

(I have already read all the posts recommending Trac, Mediawiki, DocuWiki, TWiki, TiddlyWiki. They are nice, but do not seem to meet the requirements above).

maybe MindTouch is what you're looking for-- It may have what you need, but it definitely has the following:

* Platform independent
* Mono/.Net using C# and PHP
* Good for mashups
* Stored in MySQL
* Data is stored in XML, not WikiText format
* They have a preconfigured VM server you can download and use from your PC.
