Can you call Symantec Endpoint "LiveUpdate" from script .e.g .vbs or .js

I've been looking around for a way of calling Symantec Endpoint's "LiveUpdate" without opening the management console and clicking on the LiveUpdate button.

Has anyone seen a way of calling the live update from script e.g. javascript, or vbs etc. The idea is to call it via a link on a webpage or similar (I have seen some programs setup a new protocol i.e. symantec://liveUpdate similar to http://).

The setting here is to provide a way for end users to do a liveUpdate when quarantined logging into a company VPN. The VPN checks the definition files are within 7 days before allowing a connection. Hence if the quarantine warning offers a simple link to initiate the LiveUpdate this would provide a simple mechanism.
