HTML/XHTML TEL: and USSD String

Hi All I'm trying to get the <a href='tel:*120*5xxxx#' /> to work but it does nto like the ussd part ?? Is there a way to use tel: with a ussd string ?

PS. xxxx above represents numeric value's and yes i have tried urlencoding.
