Apart from inline code comments and the discussion forums of the respective open source projects, can anybody point me a single place where I can get the explanation of the code of open source projects,

Is there any wikipedia thats dedicated for this where we can find user/community contributed explanations for the codes.

That depends on which project your interested in they're all decentralized there is no codex how to run an open source project. you can try asking other people working on the project or see if they have a website, mailing list, and/or irc
