I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but I'm in superdoubt. First of all I'm gonna do an MS in CS after 2 years. Now in this 2 years of my IT job , I've been given an choice of either to do web development with .Net or to be an ETL developer with Ab Initio. Honestly I don't think either will help for my MS. But can any one tell me which one would be more beneficial in the long run. I've no idea about Ab-Initio.

Microsoft is a better platform for job skills in the long run.

IMO all ETL development tasks that I've seen have been to join up predefined tasks with straight lines. That's probably an over simplication but I've not found any ETL that satisfies a developer that has previously "developed" using any programming language. If it's actually developing applications, etc. that interests / excites you then I'd recommend the web development route.
