Hi,

I come from a .NET background where continuous integration was/is heavily practiced, i.e. Subversion, Cruise Control, MS Build - plus a suite of unit and integration tests.

Current project I am on the client (big) believes in using Teamsite. I had never heard of it.

Two posts I have read here and here - not positive!

I have a meeting tomorrow and want to fire bullets in the correct direction and practice what I preach - continuous integration! Anyone have any experience of using this Teamsite?

On the flip side does anyone have anything good to say?

Cheers.

I'm a bit confused by your question - Teamsite doesn't have anything to do with continuous integration in the same way as Cruise Control/Unit testing - it would be easier to compare SharePoint with Teamsite. It's possible teamsite has radically changed, but it (was) a content management system.

Hi, I understand what you are saying. Telephone conversation revealed today that you can have "workflows" for deployment. If I can say tomorrow, "hey, this is no different from right-clicking the project and selecting publish" then great. I do not want unnecessary red tape.

Workflow for deployment and continuous integration/source control sounds like Team Foundation Server - or some call it "Team Suite".

Having had this meeting; I can confirm that Teamsite is being used as a deployment tool. Should I be worried? (probably)

I would be - I honestly can't even see how it would be used for that at all... let alone how it would be used well.
