I currently have the Astaro Security Gateway ISO loaded on a beige box and it does what I want: Blocks direct access to the Internet making it's proxy server (with authentication) the only path to the Internet. Then, each user is subject to a different set of rules, for instance don't allow user "A" to connect after 11pm on a school night, while allowing user "B" (me) to still connect.
The only problem is that I feel guilty leaving this machine running 24x7 (carbon footprint, and all that stuff).
So I wanted to find a router that does what I want. Most that do block a time slot do it by IP or mac address, which isn't good because there are shared PC's in the house. So I thought "Netgear Live Parental Controls" might work. Paired with OpenDNS, the router can block content, and even block content by user based on time of day. But it doesn't just cut off access at a certain time ("innocent" sites are always available).
The question is, are there any routers that have a built-in proxy server that requires authentication, and that allow time of day rules by user (not just by IP or mac)?

PS: I guess this isn't really a programming question, but "firewall configuration", maybe? Seems like other folks would have the same question if they have kids that they don't want to be on the internet all night long.
