Sharepoint Foundation 2010 licencing costs

My client has a Windows Server 2008 R2 dedicated box leased from a hosting company. I assume they have to correct licences for it.

However I want to install Sharepoint 2010 Foundation on this box and expose it via the internet to the client and their satelite employees around the world.

I initially thought this wouldn't cost any more in licenses as SPF2010 is free with a licenced copy of Server 2008.

However I've been reading about Internet Connector licences.

Are they relevent? Does the client need one? Is there any other licences that we need or was I right in the first place?

You need External Connector (EC) license to allow external users access the server. External users are any users who are not company employees of server owner (so, actually, your client is external user too for this server).

I think the hosting provider should have this license already.

EC is not a SharePoint license, you can use it in connection with any software running on the server. For SharePoint Foundation, you don't need any specific license.
