excel autofilter crashes on browser

i am able to open excel files directly on web browser via some configuration on windows. (eg : www.xyz.com/excelfile.xlsx) it opens on ie 8.

My problem is when i use autofilter columns in excel files,when i try to filter rows on excel int. explorer crashes somehow. here are some eventvwr logs,what might cause this error ?

i even tried it with a simple filtered excel sheet. Thanks for any idea.
