I would like to know how some sites (companies) are able to render their search results from Google, e.g., with extra below their search return.

For example, say you go to google.com and enter "boeing". One should see extra hyperlinks below like: "Careers", "Jobs & Events", "Contact Us", etc. I really like how this looks and would like to replicate this. Is this doable?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

The feature is called Sitelinks.

Google's algorithms choose to do this for certain sites - there's nothing you can do to make it happen for your site, other than:

  • Make sure you have a clear navigation structure that Google can pick up.

  • Make your site popular enough to trigger Google's display of those extra links. :-)

(The only control you get is to suppress them if Google is showing them erroneously.)

There's some documentation about Sitelinks here: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=47334 and some third party advice here: http://www.davechaffey.com/SEO-Best-Practice/Google-Site-Links
