How do i configure HTC desire as a wifi access point?

As mentioned - not about programming. But now you're here:
Make sure you have Android 2.2 installed. Run the program "Wi-Fi Hotspot" and follow the instructions. Tada! :-)

I'm not sure that is possible. As far as I can tell the Android 2.2 docs don't even mention the possibility. Maybe the Wi-Fi hotspot app is an HTC-thing - something interacting with the low-level drivers?
