When choosing an XML processing framework I would recommend sticking with standards: DOM, SAX, StAX, JAXB. Each of these have frameworks have multiple implementations that can be compared on performance, extensions, etc.
Standard frameworks integrate better with other technolgies, and offer the ability to easily switch implementations if you hit a blocking bug.
