How can I use the SimpleHTMLDOM Parser to get the entire DOM tree snapshot? Any pointers would help.

once yon constructed the simpledom object is is an entire "tree" snapshot? what do you expect? somethin like: <html><head></head><body><div><p><h1></..... ? or the extracted plaintext from the website?
