I want to customize the android OS for my specific needs. What i want to do exactly is eg:- remove the access to android market, remove contacts, calendar.etc.

basically I want to have apps that I permit. Even if removing the icon is all right.

If you do so you will have create a new custom ROM and only you will be able to install...

Not every one would prefer to install without default features like Market etc..

True, but he is probably developing this for a specific client

@Lucas B: Yeah, What I want to do is I want the user to have access only to 2-3 specific apps. And access to the web.All other stuff must be disabled, and I want to enforce permissions so that the user may not change the phone settings, eg: adjust the date.

Hey thank you very much. Can't I root the phone and remove the native stuff? I have not tried ROM modding before is the process very complicated?

Yes it's complicated. Buy rooting the phone and removing stuff - you just archive ONE rooted phone. If thats your goal - go for it. If you looking for solution to provide custom version of ROM - hey it's a hard work.

Ahaaa for a Demo I can root the phone, in the mean time I can find a way to mod.Got a time frame of roughly 1 year. For the demo, I want to be able to remove all phone stuff except browser and 2-3 apps. And a way to enforce security so that user would not change any phone settings.Thank you very much for the input.
