Hi gents,

I have spent a while developing an Android app, and am hoping to publish in the coming days. From the Market console, I have tried to make my Checkout account a Merchant account, for which I need to provide both a private (for Google's eyes only) address - which I'm fine with - and an address which the public will see when the buy my software.

I have looked in more detail at the receipts for Android apps I have bought in the past, and sure enough they all have addresses - the difference is they were all (3 of them) businesses, with business premises. As a private individual I do not want just anybody to be given my address over the internet. I can understand completely that Google need one, to verify who I am, but the last thing I need is my address in the public.

Before I go ahead signing up for a merchant account, is there anything I can do about this? Maybe a setting inside merchant account to make your address private? I do intend to provide a support email address and such, but cannot see any valid reason why users on the Android Market need my personal address.

Thanks very much guys, I'm sure someone here has experienced the same?

I feel the same way about this from a seller's and buyer's point of view. I should not have people's addresses and they should not have mine for this kind of transaction. It's scary to think that anyone could make a good app and have your information.

Upvoted, so someone more knowledgeable than me will see it and hopefully be able to answer :)
