Hi,

Does anyone know a community where one might find answers relating to printer driver programming?

I know it's a bit general, but I'm stuck with a particular SDK and the manual is just really bad.

For reference, I'm working with an Epson SDK, and I can't seem to find the a "developer's forum" on their website anywhere.

Please don't downvote if my question isn't clear enough; just ask and I'll clarify. Thanks.

Try MSDN forums or the usenet microsoft.public.development.device.drivers group. You can also post some queries here ;-)

I'm looking for something aimed more towards the SDKs themselves, not the OS.. But thanks, I'll check it out. +1

I suggest you write directly to the SDK provider. This is often the best thing you can do if you have problems with the SDK. (Is this paid? They must have a support channel in that case.) The MSDN forums are the next best thing.

Yes dirk, I think you understood my question correctly. I think it is paid, my company does have official spec sheets and such, but I'm afraid the documentation is very poor (unlike HP's documentation, which is usually quite clear).

The problem is this is a niche field. However, write to the SDK guys and hope for the best.

You can take a look at open source CUPS, which develops a printing system for Unix.

I think his problem is with using the SDK rather than general Driver Kit/installation/queue management/io related issues.

You're right dirkgently..
