When I create a new SPAlert on a list and call SPAlert.Update(true), the systems sends out an email with the title "You have successfully created an alert for 'Blah: All items', and there's also some body text as well.

I want to be able to customize this message, can anyone help? Thanks.

I recommend you google this question as it is quite widely asked. This time I did that for you. Two ways you can turn to, and they are web parts and code.

Code, take a look those blogs 1. http://sunilnaidu143.blogspot.com/2005/09/customize-alert-creation-confirmation.html 2. http://weblogs.asp.net/jan/archive/2006/06/13/YASR_3A00_-Alerts-in-SharePoint-2007.aspx

Web parts

SharePoint Alert Reminder

Bamboo solution

I personally prefer tool as they have many amazing features. However if you just solely change the confirm message then those blogs are your best solutions.

Hope my little search helps!

That does help, thanks. I was going to use google, but i decided it would be easier to get you to type the search in for me.

Actually i take that back. Both those links are useless - the first is not for sharepoint 2007. Maybe you should get a bit more handy with your search engine.

Is there a solution to this or alternatively any way so that that email is not sent at all?
