Is there any way to get a tooltip to appear outside an air application window?

I wish to display a potentially wide tooltip that may extend beyond the application window width.

Is there any way to get tooltips, or perhaps indeed any display objects, to not get clipped and extend beyond the window like it would do in a native Win32 application?
