I have a collation problem with my database and I have developed my own solution.

I've see this where the tempdb has a different default colation than your database, and I needed to add "COLLATE DATABASE_DEFAULT" to my comparisons e.g.

becomes

I've used this method numerous times. Differing collation types are a real pain :(

Binary Worrier's solution is useful for running code with different collations. For example, temp tables and temp variables use the tempdb collation.

To change the collation, MS put together a KB "How to transfer a database from one collation to another collation in SQL Server". It still mentions using DTS though, which may not be possible. I can't find an updated KB article.
