I read this and was left wondering:

a) When is the new exam going to be released? Google search hasn't helped at all.

b) How different it is from the old exam? Does anyone knows where to find the impressions of the beta testers? Is there any beta tester around?

c) What should I study to pass this thing? I suppose it would be more like the SCJD than the old SCJP.

While this question was from November, I came across it in a search and didn't want to leave it without an answer.

a) Sun had said the programmer plus exam was on hold until Java 1.7 certifications came out. After that, Oracle took over Sun so all announcements must be taken with a grain of salt. b) It is different from the old exam as it would have required actual programming rather than answering multiple choice questions. There were no public beta testers before Sun decided to put the test on hold. c) It is different from the SCJD in that the programming is timed and occurs at the testing site. The best way to study is to practice programming. Something that should be done anyway.
