In any of micro soft tools such as word,we get a feature to select text in a rectangle manner.alt + right key selection.Is there anything as such in eclipse.It will be very useful

Pressing 'Shift + Alt + A' toggles Block or Column selection mode in Eclipse 3.5 or later.
For version 3.4.0 of Eclipse there is a patch available via an update site which might work for you, have a look here http://tkilla.ch/column_mode/ (this site also offers a previous release of the patch for Eclipse 3.3M6).
Other than that you can try the 'Columns 4 Eclipse' Plug-in for Eclipse 3.3.1 here: http://columns4eclipse.sourceforge.net/
