Hi all,
I have a Direct2D window which paints fine when in focus; however, when focus moves to another window (same application or another), the entire window goes black. I pinned the issue down to the use of ID2D1HwndRenderTarget::Clear. This function is vital to my application as without it, painting becomes rather... weird.
Is there...
On confluence I want to create a link that links to:
P:\myFolder\folder, where P is mapped to a network share.
Just putting in "P:\myFolder\folder" doesn't work. Any ideas?
(Assuming I cannot put in the full network path).

Same question for Windows Server 2003.
Do I need to direct people to install the VC 2008 sp1 runtime?
Is the answer dependent upon whether the Server runs an x64 or x86 build?
Does the VC Runtime get pushed out with Microsoft Update, or Windows Update?

Hello,
I'd like to develop a desktop application (on Windows, and preferably on .NET) that accepts bluetooth connections from mobile devices, that would then send commands to this application.
I've never worked with bluetooth before. I've looked for open-source examples of such applications, but I had no luck. I've actually found on Mi...
Not sure if this is possible but is there a way to open up another program like notepad within the container of a WPF window? similiar to that of being able to open a web page using the webbrowser control?

I've written a function to return the time_t value corresponding to midnight on a given day. When there is no midnight for a given day, it returns the earliest time available; that situation can occur, for example, when Egypt enters daylight-saving time. This year, the time change takes effect at midnight on the night of April 29, so the...
I'm compiling my fortran90 code using Intel Visual FORTRAN on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise X64 Edition. When I compile the code for 32 bit structure and using automatic and manual vectorizing options. The code will be compiled, vectorized. And when I run it on 8 core system the compiled code uses 70% of CPU that shows me that vectorizi...
Due to how Microsoft implements the heap in their non-DLL versions of the runtime, returning a C++ object from a DLL can cause problems:
// dll.h
DLL_EXPORT std::string somefunc();
and:
// app.c - not part of DLL but in the main executable
void doit()
{
std::string str(somefunc());
}
The above code runs fine provided both the D...
Hi there, I've been trying to get back into coding for a while, so I figured I'd start with some simple SDL, now, without the file i/o, this compiles fine, but when I throw in the stdio code, it starts throwing errors. This I'm not sure about, I don't see any problem with the code itself, however, like I said, I might as well be a newbie...
So here's my issue:
I want to use %cd% so a user can execute a script anywhere they want to place it, but if %cd% contains spaces, then it will fail (regardless of quotes). If I hardcode the path, it will function with quotes, but if it is a variable, it will fail.
Fails: (if %cd% contains spaces)
"%cd%\Testing.bat"
Works:
"C:\Program...

if my windows path looks like this:
c:\ruby\bin;c:\cygwin\bin

I'm doing a little string validation with findstr and its /r flag to allow for regular expressions. In particular I'd like to validate integers.
The regex
^[0-9][0-9]*$
worked fine for non-negative numbers but since I now support negative numbers as well I tried
^([1-9][0-9]*|0|-[1-9][0-9]*)$
for either positive or negative intege...
Hi All,
I would love to begin developing applications for the MAC OS X, although I have to idea where to start.

Hi,

Hi guys.
Until Windows Vista I was saving my application data into the directory where the program was located. The most common place was "C:\Program Files\MyApplication". As we know, under Vista and later the common user does't have rights to write under "Program Files" folder.
So my first idea was to save the application data under "A...
