When doing customer tests on web sites or web applications that rely on specific host headers, it might be necessary to temporarily add one or more lines to the hosts
file on the customers PC.
While this is certainly doable with any text editor (even Notepad), it might not be something the customer is able to do on her own. If several iterations of testing are needed - and the customer(s) needs to work on the live site in between - you might be spending a lot of time configuring hosts
files back and forth.
I am imagining a slick little GUI tool, which simply displays a list of "known" hosts
entries, preferably with user-friendly names/descriptions, and lets the user enable/disable any entry with a single click.
Does anyone know of an existing Windows tool that fits the above description?
