Does anyone know of a free web service to determine the zip code of an IP address?
If you don't mind paying a bit of money, their GeoIP City product is more accurate and only costs $20 for 50,000 queries. More info at http://www.maxmind.com/app/city

Beware that hostip.info can be "way off". For example if one's ISP is based in say Missouri but effectively located in Maryland, the location given may be "St Louis, MO" rather than Baltimore MD...
