I uploaded an app to itunes connect yesterday afternoon. It has been in the "Upload Received" stage ever since then. I uploaded a different app today, it was in that stage for only five minutes. This is the first time I've submitted since the new, more detailed status updates were present. I'm just wondering if the app sitting there in that state for so long seems like something to be concerned about. I'm guessing by staying in that state that it isn't being put on the review queue. Anyways, has anyone else had a similar experience?

I've never noticed one of my apps in that stage. Since it was only yesterday, I'd suggest rejecting it and re-uploading it.

Is there anything unusual about the app? In-app purchases, for example?

Unfortunately there is no option to reject the binary at this stage or I would have gone ahead with that. I sent an email to both itunesconnect and the app review team. I got an email back from the app review team basically saying to contact itunesconnect. There are no in-app purchases or anything like that.

in any case, seems like "do something" is the right answer rather than "this is normal, just wait..."

The real question is what to do. Since I can't reject it, I am subject to waiting for itunesconnect to respond to my email. In the meantime, that oh-so-important holiday towards the end of this month when lots of people will be enjoying new iPhones and downloading apps is approaching ever so quickly.

Submit it again under another name? Probably not too attractive unless your art is very simple, though. One can hope that Apple will admit that it's their fault and expedite your progress through the queue.

Well, the name in all the artwork is "Yoté." I submitted originally under "Yote" because I was uncertain how deep linking would handle the accented character. I just resubmitted on iTunes Connect as "Yoté," and changed my deep link in posts to a redirecting link on my website. I can change the destination of the redirected link at a later date without resubmitting anything. So, however I need to link back to the page in the App Store, I can make it work, and no artwork had to be changed.

when I started reading that last comment, my first impression was that iTunesConnect must have some bug with accented characters, but I guess not! good luck...

I have had the same issue with a few apps I have put forward, I got snatchboard live without issue, however I have had quite a few others sat in upload received and ended up putting newer versions with different names on around midnight and they seemed to go straight through.

Hi,

The 1.1 update of my App got rejected. Then, after making a change I uploaded it using the Application Loader, during uploading the Application Loader froze and I had to kill it myself. Then the status changed to “Upload Received”. So it seems the binary was uploaded anyway.

But now, it has been in “Upload Received” for 6 days (144 hours!). Normally it changes from “Upload Received” to “Waiting for Review” in a couple of minutes. iTunes Connect FAQ: “If your app has been in the Upload Received state for more than 24 hours, you should contact iTunes Connect Support through the iTunes Connect Contact Us system.”. Apple has not responded yet to my contact forms, I’ve used the contract form three times now….

In the meantime, when in status “Upload Received“ you can’t reject binary.

I'm not going to upload it using a different App name / ID, as my reviews and top list positions will be gone...

Any advice? Just wait? Anyone knows how to deal with this situation?

Cheers Jeroen

There is a bug in the submission process introduced w/ the new mandatory AppLoader submission. Apps with status "upload received" don't send out necessary notifications and will thus stay in this state forever. You need to contact someone at iTC.
