If you use Firefox, there's an extension called ColorZilla to grab a color from any webpage. Great for web development.

I have a number of web-based color picking tools and references organized in my Delicious account. Help yourself.

You can even pick a color with Paint under Windows.
- Open the image with Paint
- Select the pipette tool
- Click onto the pixel you want to pick the color from
- Open the menu "Colors" and open the dialog for adapting the palette
- Extend the dialog and you will see the rgb color components

ColorPicker.com is great if you don't want to install anything. I also like the color picker plugin for notepad++ (go to downloads, then plugins to get the dll).
