Debugging VS2008 project on VMWare Windows 2003 server

Question

Howdy Folks,

Has anybody had success opening/debugging a Visual Studio 2008 website while running on a Windows 2003 server?

For whatever reason when i try to open the site through Visual Studio 2008 it just hangs and when checking the task manager i can see it's gobbling up copious amounts of RAM to the point that when it reaches 350,000k I just stop the devenv.exe proecess figuring 10 minutes it long enough for Visual Studio 2008 to open the site.

I will say that we're running Windows 2003 server on VMWare if that makes a difference.

Any suggestions besides a bullet in my head for thinking something like this could/should be easy?
