We are building a new website and are considering RPXnow as our main login system.

But before we take the plunge, do they have any competitors? That is, services that allow for a unified way to use all the OpenID, Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc ...

Has anyone used RPXnow? Are you satisfied with it?

A:

Current customers of Janrain, the provider of RPX include Sears, Kmart, PayPal, Diesel, Kodak, DC Shoes, Universal Music Group, Fox News, Tribune/LA Times, EW Scripps, Meredith, Deutsche Telekom, MTV, National Geographic, EMI, NY State Senate, Republican National Committee, FamilyLink, Date.com, Twitterfeed, Savings.com, RedPlum, Roost, UserVoice, Get Satisfaction, WetPaint, Kickapps, Viewpoints, and many others. So you'll be in good company if you go with Janrain.

A:

We use Gigya and have been very happy with the product. It's fast, has both REST and javascript APIs and allowed us to implement features besides authentication that we hadn't really thought of (like linking multiple accounts and social chat). I've heard good things about Janrain, too... but we're definitely satisfied with Gigya.
