In regards to the 30 pin connector on the iPhone, does anyone know if any of the pins can be reconfigured to allow Video in?

A:

Looks like the only input lines are USB/Firewire, but I'll leave the interpretation of the iPod connector pinout to the experts

Thank you Daniel - we're waiting to hear back from Apple - just thought I'd throw it out there in the meantime.

A:

No. There is no hardware for any form of video in.

And you don't believe that any of the USB/Firewire pins could be programmed to allow video in?
Elizabeth
Sure, but that would require support from the operating system. You would need to talk to Apple in order to get support.

This (the connector and how to connect to it) is one of the NDA legal mumbo-jumbo areas of iPhone development. You will need to talk to them to get the docs, to start go here http://developer.apple.com/technologies/iphone/sdk/accessories.html

We started to look into it once but did not follow through, let us know how it works for you.
